A City that Speaks Many Tongues
Mandarin Chinese is the primary language spoken in
Taiwan, while Taiwanese Taigi (Hokkien) and Hakka are
also commonly used. To support international visitors,
Taipei has enhanced its multilingual accessibility. MRT
stations, bus stops, and key public areas now provide
information in both Mandarin and English, with some
locations also offering Japanese and Korean, making
navigation easier and more welcoming for travelers
from around the world.
A City that Cares for All
Taipei has a robust public healthcare system that
encompasses medical centers, regional hospitals, and
community clinics, delivering high-quality, multi- tiered
medical services. Taipei City Hospital operates 7 major
branches and numerous outpatient clinics throughout
the city, ensuring accessible primary care and essential
services for residents. With extensive public health
initiatives, over 90% of residents can access medical
services within 30 minutes.
A City Where Green Breathes Life
Taipei City now boasts 1,023 parks with a combined
area of 1,830.9 hectares, including riverside parks,
environmental parks, and MRT linear parks. On average,
each resident enjoys 7.4m² of parkland. At the heart of
the city lies Daan Park, spanning 25.9 hectares. This
vital recreational and fitness space has earned the
reputation of being “The Lungs of the City.”
