A City in Perpetual Bloom
Flowers in Taipei
Spring is the most vibrant season in Taipei, when
floral festivals bloom across the city, filling parks and
hillsides with color and charm. The Yangmingshan
Flower Festival (January–March) opens the season,
covering the slopes with cherry blossoms, azaleas.
Next comes the Taipei Azalea Festival (March) brings a
quiet burst of color to Daan Park.
In March and April, the Taipei Rose Festival showcases
over 800 rose varieties at Xinsheng Park. Meanwhile,
the Calla Lily Festival turns Zhuzihu into a sea of
white blooms. As spring fades into early summer,
Hydrangea Season (May–June) takes over the hills of
Yangmingshan with soft, pastel-colored flowers.
Tradition Meets Thrill
Taipei International Dragon Boat
Championships
As summer approaches, Taipei’s rivers come alive with
the rhythmic beat of drums and the splash of paddles,
weaving together the vibrant scene of the Taipei
International Dragon Boat Championships. Held on
the Keelung River at Dajia Riverside Park, this exciting
event brings together teams from around the world,
showcasing strength, coordination, and team spirit in
intense races. Beyond the thrilling races, the riverbanks
are filled with festive celebrations, including traditional
blessing rituals, family-friendly games, and diverse
cultural performances.
What makes this championship especially unique is its
dedication to tradition — all racing boats are handcrafted
wooden dragon boats, allowing this time-honored
craftsmanship to shine on the modern stage.
